This is an oil painting of a boat in decline. It's been in a broken state for many years. Eventually, I guess, it will dissolve because no one seems to want to move it. I loved the composition and colors. And I like the weathered look of something that is aging.
About Tommy Midyette
I have always gravitated towards creative pursuits. I am most at home when I am making something visually or musically. That’s where my comfort zone is. I first became aware that I have a talent for drawing and painting when I was in the fourth grade. I made a colorful sketch of a Mexican man in a sombrero. I remember receiving more than enough compliments on that. During the rest of my school years, it was always my visual art that brought me the most attention. I also was involved in other creative outlets such as: making silent movies and singing/playing guitar in a band. you're sort of right. But, it's not on the way to Havelock. If you go towards Oriental, you will come to a tiny town called Merritt. It's on the left side of the road. It's not a highway either. Small road.

Tommy...this looks like a broken boat that used to be in the water to the left of Highway 70 on the east side of New Bern on the way to Havelock...am I right?! It's a wonderful painting!
